It’s yet another case of old wine in a new bottle. BMW has revealed a facelifted version of the 2 Series online in the run up to its launch. The Bavarian car maker has worked on the exteriors and the interior as well. The company has also updated the 8.8inch iDrive infotainment system which now gets a revised operating system. The iDrive infotainment system is mounted on a restyled dashboard with a more driver-oriented instrument panel.
The company has not changed anything under the hood of the 2 Series and the engines on offer are the same. The petrol variant of the 2 Series produces 134bhp in the base variant - 218i and ranges up to 340bhp in the top of the line variant-M240i. While the base variant of the diesel produces 150bhp in the base variant-220d and ranges up to 224bhp in the diesel top-variant-225d.
The company now offers the M-powered top spec petrol variant - M240i with BMW’s xDrive system. The 2 series gets two gearboxes to choose from, a standard six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic in most of the models.
