The Tata Nano is expected to begin production in February 2014 and that means that it should be on sale by April next year. The diesel Nano is expected to be followed a CNG variant and both models will be launched with a facelift that has been spotted testing in various parts of the country.
The specifications for the upcoming Tata Nano diesel have also been revealed on the Turbo manufacturer Garett’s website. The Nano diesel will be powered by a three-cylinder turbocharged common rail (DICOR) 800cc mill developing 42.9bhp and by virtue of being a diesel, a significantly higher torque figure. It is also believed that the facelifted Nano will make use of a plastic fuel tank in a bid to further reduce costs.
