Tata’s upcoming MPV, the Hexa, has been spotted testing near Wai, Maharashtra by one of our readers and the car looks almost production ready. The heavily camouflaged test mule doesn’t divulge many details about the car except for the fact that the product development is going as per schedule for its slated Auto Expo launch.
The spy shots confirm Tata’s signature mesh front grille for it new cars. The headlamps get projector units and a muscular bonnet to make it look more SUV than MPV. The wing mirrors get LED turn indicators. The car has a wide stance and looks muscular with the chunky 17-inch alloy wheels. The Hexa will get new horizontal tail lamps while ditching the Christmas tree lights. The car stands tall and we can expect a ground clearance of at least 200mm.
There is no information about the interiors, but taking cues from the new Tata cars, the interiors will have good quality and finish to start with. The Aria will be powered by the new VariCor 400 series of engines that develop 156 bhp of power and 400Nm of torque and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Hexa will get also get the four-wheel-drive as an option.
The Hexa MPV will compete with the Toyota Innova and the XUV500 and should be priced competitively to take on the competition.
