The petrol version of the XUV500, which is due to be launched in India within the next few months, has been revealed on the automaker’s UAE website. The car was spotted doing the rounds outside Dubai and is now expected to go on sale in the Gulf nation soon.
As expected, this petrol engine makes use of the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder block found in the diesel version. Even the output is the same- 140bhp/320Nm, and you can have it only with the six-speed AT while AWD is optional.
In the UAE, The FWD model is the W8 trim while the AWD is the top-of-the-line W10 variant. Sources suggest that it is priced at 74,900 dirhams or Rs 13.24 lakhs which is where a mid-level variant of India –spec petrol will stand once the car is launched here.
Since the XUV500 is produced for the entire world at their India factory, it seems almost certain that production of the car has begun and its launch will happen very soon.
