Mahindra’s Bolero has always been a popular name in the utility vehicle segment and is also a considerable contributor to the Indian automaker’s overall sales. This time around, we have managed to snap images of a test mule which is likely to be the new Bolero facelift. In terms of upgrades in the facelift model, it is expected to be restricted to only cosmetic upgrades while mechanically it might continue to be powered by existing engine options.
Based on what can be seen in those images, the Bolero facelift is expected to sport a smaller tailgate handle, amber coloured tail lamps and mildly tweaked bumper design. The front is not expected to get major upgrades and might be mildly tweaked for freshness. Though the interior could not be clicked for now, it is believed that the upcoming model will get new feature upgrades and a re-finished dashboard. The inside will also sport new upholstery and offer improved spacing than its predecessors.
Under the hood, the new Mahindra Bolero is expected to continue being powered by a 2523cc mHawk m2DiCR engine which generates 63bhp of power. The fairly powered engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission returns a decent fuel efficiency figure of 15.96kmpl. Earlier this year, few reports indicated a possibility of Mahindra introducing a compact Bolero, this however seems unlikely as Mahindra had recently launched the TUV300 and NuvoSport in the compact SUV segment. More details if any, will be known at a later date.
