Ford might launch the 2014 variant of the Fiesta shortly. Our sources have confirmed that the production of the Fiesta sedan was halted a while ago and now dealers have also stopped accepting bookings of the outgoing model. The refreshed version of the car was unveiled at the Auto Expo in February and is expected to be launched by May end or start of June.
The 2014 Fiesta facelift gets few cosmetic changes and it will come in a new Copper Pulse flagship colour apart from the other standard colours. An Aston Martin-esque looking grille distinctly shows the major change in the car, it also gets a redesigned bumper and revised fog lamp housings. At the back of the car, we can see angular tail lamps and a revised bumper. The chrome accents on the centre console in the current car have been painted in black in the 2014 Ford Fiesta. Another change in the cabin is the redesigned steering wheel.
The Ford Fiesta facelift is expected to be powered by the same set of engine options that the present Fiesta is equipped with. This means it gets a 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine. The five-speed manual transmission will be carried over to all models. An automatic variant will be offered in the petrol spec.
Ford had already updated their official website with the facelifted Fiesta. We hope Ford launches the new Fiesta at an aggressive price to compete with the Volkswagen Vento, Renault Scala, Hyundai Verna and the Honda City.
