- Potential issue with individual cell modules
- Total of 31 units affected
Audi India has recalled the flagship EV sports car range in the country, which is said to affect a total of 31 units across the country. The e-tron GT range currently consists of the e-tron GT and the RS GT e-tron.
According to the official documents, some individual cell modules of the high-voltage battery may display technical irregularities. There is a possibility that the supplier of the battery module may have had certain irregularities at the time of production with the affected vehicle.
Further, under certain circumstances, the high-voltage battery may overheat, thus posing an acute fire hazard. This could come with the risk of injuries to the occupants of the vehicle and people in the proximity of the vehicle, as well as damage to property.
The 31 units of the e-tron GT affected by the recall were manufactured between 9 January, 2020 and 16 February, 2024. The brand is expected to reach out to customers of the affected vehicles, and the necessary fix is likely to be carried out free of charge.
