Suzuki Motor Corporation has introduced a new automatic variant of the Ertiga for the Indonesian market. The automatic variant gets a five-speed automatic transmission gearbox and is priced at Rupiah 173.8 million (Rs 9.6 lakh) for the base variant and Rupiah 185.8 million (Rs 10.26 lakh) for the top-end variant.
Indonesia becomes the second country to get the automatic variant of the Ertiga. It was first launched in Thailand in mid-March this year. Currently, the company imports the Ertiga through the completely-knocked-down (CKD) route from India and is assembled at the company’s facility in Jarkata.
The Indonesian-spec Ertiga is powered by a K14B engine which also powers the Indian-spec Ertiga. The engine produces 95PS at 6000rpm and torque figure of 120Nm at 4000 rpm. There is a possibility that Maruti Suzuki will launch the automatic variant of the Ertiga later this year in India.
There is also a possibility that the company will update the Ritz and the Swift DZire with the five-speed gearbox from the current four-speed gearbox but we need to wait for the official word to come from the company.
