Volvo has just announced that all their new vehicles will have electric motors from the year 2019. The Swedish brand will mate the petrol and diesel versions in its line-up in use at that time with a plug-in or mild hybrid tech.
With this vision, the company believes that they can target their earlier projected sales of one million EVs by the year 2025. Volvo earlier disclosed their intent to add five fully electric vehicles to their range between the years 2019 and 2021, three exclusively for the Volvo brand and two for Polestar.
Hakan Samuelsson, CEO of Volvo Cars, said, "this move is about the customer. People increasingly demand electrified cars and we want to respond to our customer's current and future needs”.
