The soon-to-be launched 2013 Honda Accord will be the first car from the Japanese automaker to be powered by the advanced range of Earth Dream engines. The car which will be for US market will be 10 per cent more fuel efficient than the outgoing model.
At present Honda will only use this engine to power only the Accord, but it is expected that mill will soon find its way into Honda’s other models too. The engines are currently available as 2.4 litre 4-cylinder and as a 3.5 litre V6. The 2.4 is expected to come with a standard CVT AT while the 3.5 V6 will get a 6-speed automatic.
The vehicle will be produced at Honda’s Maryville plant in Ohio which completed 30 years of existence in the country. In these 30 years it has continuously produced nine generations of the Accord.
