The McLaren P1 which created a stir on the Bahrain International Circuit earlier, will be delivered to its first customer in Dubai this week. According to reports, the carmaker will produce only 375 units of the P1 out of which 40 units will be sold in Dubai with 15 of them reaching the region by end of this year.
The McLaren P1 was recently displayed at the 2013 Dubai Motor Show. The British automaker also plans to improve the presence of the MP4-12C and MP4-12C Spider version by bringing the P1 into the Dubai car market.
On the other hand Evren Milano gave a hint about the coming of a Spider version of the Mclaren P1 by posting the above image on Facebook. They mentioned chances of bringing up the convertible. It wouldn’t be a surprise if this version is made available as only minimal changes needed to be done to the P1 like a roll-over hoop and wind deflectors considering the car already has a good amount of carbon-fibre and titanium in its constitution. All the designers might work upon is some change in interiors and exteriors while retaining the same engine for the vehicle. The F1 didn’t have a Spider version but since the MP4-12 has got a Spider version, the P1 is likely to get one such variant.
Also the McLaren P13 was seen testing at the Nurburgring and spyshots of the same have been posted on autoevolution.com. The test vehicle in the pictures is the P13 with a MP4-12C body. It apparently has a longer wheel-base and is expected to produce 450 bhp. This P13 might be placed in between the supercars and sports cars category and is speculated to be launched in the European market only in 2015.
