SkodaAuto India, a fully owned subsidiary announced the appointment of Dr. Oliver Gruenberg as its new Managing Director – Technical Affairs. Dr. Oliver Gruenberg assumed responsibilities from the 1st of August 2010 and has taken over from Mr Jean-Marie Lagey, Managing Director Technical Affairs who retired from SkodaAuto India. Mr. Lagey has been assigned new responsibilities in Europe.
In his previous capacity as Manufacturing Director and Deputy General Director of Volkswagen Russia, Dr. Gruenberg played a key role in driving the business in Russia. After having led the company to production readiness in full cycle production in 2009, he took over the responsibility for the Volkswagen plant in Sarajevo Bosnia within the business area of driving systems.
A student of Physics from the Technical University of Braunschweig, Dr. Gruenberg has also completed his Doctorate in Engineering Sciences. He joined the Volkswagen Group in Wolfsburg in 1995 completing his Doctorate during his stint at Volkswagen.
