The Hyundai Grand i10 has always been a strong competitor for the Maruti Suzuki Swift in India. The Korean car manufacturer will further strengthen competition in the segment with the soon to launch Grand i10 Nios in India. Apart from price and styling, dimensions of a car in the B-segment are also the determining factor of its sales in the country. Here below are the dimensions for the upcoming Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and two other popular cars in this segment, namely the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Ford Figo.
As revealed by us, the upcoming Hyundai Grand i10 Nios will measure 3805mm in length, 1680mm in width, 1520mm in height and it will have a wheelbase of 2450mm. As compared to the regular Grand i10, the Grand i10 Nios is 40mm longer and 20mm wider. The wider proportions will further mean that the occupants will get improved legroom and shoulder room over the standard model.Â
Meanwhile, the Ford Figo measures 3,941mm in length, 1,704mm wide and has a height of 1,525mm. The Figo has a wheelbase of 2,490mm making longest among the three cars, which might provide slightly better legroom for the occupants. The Swift from Maruti Suzuki, a strong player in this segment, measures 3,840mm in length and has a width of 1,735mm. The hatchback has a height of 1530mm and a wheelbase of 2,450mm. In terms of dimensions, the Swift offers marginally better width and height for the occupant.
With that said, the above-mentioned figures are not decisive of the occupant space. From the current lot, in terms of the occupant space, the Ford Figo is better in terms of rear and front headroom, offers more front legroom as well as rear shoulder room. A detailed comparison in terms of front, rear and boot space will be done post the launch of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios on 20 August 2019.
