Ferrari, it seems, has slowly but surely been releasing details about its upcoming flagship flag model, the F150, via spy shots of test mules and more recently leaked slides, from various presentations, providing details about the cars like what the front and the back look like. Now a slide has leaked detailing how the F150 (a.k.a the F70) has improved over its predecessor the legendary Enzo.
The slide very plainly titled, ‘F150 performance Vs Enzo’ shows us first and foremost that both the cars weigh exactly the same and this is it seems is mostly due to the F150 having a hybrid (KERS) unit, which due to the current limitations of its design still weighs quite a bit.
In terms of Co2 emissions, the F150 has dropped a massive 300 gCO2/km over the Enzo (from 540 to less than 240), something that we can attribute to tightening emission norms as well as improvement in technology. The F150 is also two seconds faster than the Enzo when it comes to going from 0-200kmph and this automatically has given it a faster time (five seconds!) around Ferrari’s Fiorano circuit.
We already know that the new hypercar is likely to get a 6.3-litre V12 which produces 740bhp along with a 100bhp boost from the HY-KERS unit. The driver's seat will be made-to-measure to fit the owner, like F1 car seats are made. It will then be fixed to a position in the cabin, with the steering wheel and pedals moving back and forth to adjust to different drivers.
The F150 will be launched sometime next year and is likely to cost in excess of 800,000 GBP (Rs seven crore before taxes).
