The 2019 edition of India’s longest motorsports rally, Desert Storm, will kick start tomorrow from DLF Place Saket in New Delhi after more than 72 participants cleared scrutiny at the venue today. This year, the Desert Storm will have just three categories instead of four like every year which are - Xtreme (speed competitive cars), Moto and quad, and Ndure (TSD cars).
More than 36 riders in the Moto category, 30 teams in Xtreme category (each comprising of driver and co-driver), and six teams in Ndure category (each comprising of driver and co-driver) got their vehicle scrutineered and ready for a week long rally race. Amongst the participants are celebrated names such as Gaurav Gill driving for Team Mahindra and C.S. Santosh riding for Hero Motorsport, to name a few.
Organised by Northern Motorsport, the Desert Storm Across is a week long race which usually covers a distance of more than 2500kilometres. In each category, participants engage in real-time battle across stages while also covering timed section through the gruesome terrains. As with every year, the country’s longest motorsport rally will test the mental and physical capabilities of the contestants over the course of the rally.
