The leg three of Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm 2018 has brought an end to dreams of winning it again this year for defending champion Suresh Rana. Although he had been running strong in two legs of the race, in the middle of third leg today, the Suzuki Vitara faced a mechanical failure. The longest rally stage held today spanning a distance of 199kms had been grueling enough to test the mantle of the drivers as well as their impressive set of wheels.
Aabhishek Mishra and V Venu Rameshkumar who had been leading in leg two of the Desert Storm continue to be in the leading position with a time of 06:55:38. The second position which at one point was held by Suresh Rana has now been earned by Raj Singh Rathore and Sagar Mallapa with a total time of 07:21:55. The third position has been claimed by Dharampal Jangra and Harikrishnan from Maruti Suzuki Motorsport who have clocked a total time of 07:31:58.
In the Ndure category, Gurpinder Singh and Mrinmoy Saha of Desert Raiders have been leading the race, while the second position has been earned by Ruchit Jadhaw and Aditya Garg. The third position has been claimed by Ashish Budhia and Arindham Gosh with difference of +2.
In the Explore category we have Nipun Agrawal and Kabir Mansharamani claiming the first position in third leg, while the second position has been earned by Surendra Gopu and Hardeep Singh with a total difference across three legs with about +6, while the third position has been claimed by Chander Shekher Rana and Paras Kathpal with a total difference of +10.
In the Moto category of leg three, Aaron Mare of Angata Racing has claimed the top position with a total time of 05:29:39. The second position has been earned by C.S Santosh with a total time of 05:36:43. The third positioned in the leg three has been claimed by Santolino Lorenzo of TVS Racing with a total time of 05:42:39.
