The Dodge Challenger perfectly fits the new cool that is called bad-ass in modern lingo. So when the American car maker built an outrageous performance model of the Challenger, it was called the Hellcat. Now, Dodge has decided to go one step further – build an even more outrageous Dodge Challenger. And to name it, Dodge has revived the 40-year old moniker – Demon.
The Demon badge was first used on the Dodge’s version of Plymouth Duster. The Dodge Challenger Demon might be powered by a 6.2-litre supercharged V8 petrol engine unleashing more than 700bhp of power and over 1000Nm of torque. The Demon will supersede the Hellcat in the Dodge scheme of things. While the Hellcat is more of a straight-line scorcher, the Demon might have the ability to get around corners which means a wider track and reworked suspension geometry to start with.
The Dodge Demon might turn out to be the performance halo car and not the typical American muscle car with the Viper seemingly at the end of the road. Dodge has started teasing the Demon with satanic teaser video clips on www.ifyouknowyouknow.com with excerpts from Marvel comic movies and Metallica numbers.
