Delphi Corp. was honored with the Automotive News Premier Automotive Suppliers’ Contribution to Excellence (PACE) award for its Multimode Electronically Scanning Radar and Direct Acting Piezo Injector, during the 16th annual awards ceremony in Detroit.
Delphi’s Multimode Electronically Scanning Radar earned top honors in the Product Category, North America. The innovative, solid state radar provides two measurement modes simultaneously and makes it possible to use a single radar to enable driver assist systems that previously required multiple radars. Offering class-leading performance, packaging and durability, ESR is helping to make radar-based convenience and safety systems affordable in the volume automotive market.
A winner in the Product Category, Europe, Delphi’s Direct Acting Piezo Injector represents a radical breakthrough in diesel injection technology. For the first time, the fuel injector needle is directly activated by the Piezo stack, eliminating the hydraulic circuit and its associated lag and energy consumption. This new technology is helping vehicle manufacturers meet tough Euro 6 emission standards while improving torque, power, fuel economy and drivability.

Along with the awards for the ESR and Direct Acting Piezo Injector innovations, Delphi was also honored with a finalist award for Halogen-Free Cable.
Delphi’s Halogen-Free 0.13 mm² Cable is highly durable automotive cable that features significantly lighter and thinner insulation than traditional cable.
