As the situation in Delhi gets worse day by day with the rising pollution levels, NITI Aayog in collaboration with AC2SG has proposed to set up an electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the Delhi-NCR region. The plan to install the charging infrastructure across 55 locations that will comprise of 135 charging stations, 46 DC quick charging stations and 89 slow AC charging stations. The entire process is based on a five step process which includes project kick off, gathering a list of locations, streamlining and timing and finally documentation and wrap up.
The development will require assistance from the state governments, private firms and companies. This should definitely make the transition to electric mobility a lot easier, not to mention faster and save costs as well. Mumbai has already got its first charging station and will get more in the future. NITI Aayog is pretty confident about setting up multiple charging stations and depending on the progress will consider further expansion.
