JTP badged cars will have dedicated space and staff at existing Tata Motors showroom, the company has said. The JTP staff will not only dress differently compared to the regular Tata sales staff, but they will also be especially trained to understand and respond better to the needs of car enthusiasts.
As of now, it doesn't make sense to have dedicated showrooms for the JTP brand - like Maruti has Nexa for its premium range - because Tata believes that the performance class in the affordable segment is still in its nascent stage. And, setting up dedicated showrooms will require heavy investments from all involved.
JTP is the performance arm of Tata Motors. It has entered into a joint venture with Jayem Automotive to develop all JTP branded cars. According to Tata Motors, for a car to carry JTP badging, it must deliver higher engine performance, better dynamics, and significantly sportier visual appeal over the stock car it is based. As of now, the company has only developed the Tigor JTP and Tiago JTP.
