DC designs have tried their hand at the Ford EcoSport and boy ‘have they done something’! The crossover now looks very aggressive; (no pun-intended), and it can now be co-related to the unnamed antagonist of the movie predator in a new avatar.
What DC has done is, they have kept the Ford’s signature Kinetic theme intact and made it more ‘in your face’ styling. The blue oval gets replaced by a DC logo, the front grille for once looks like a massive air dam which can suck in metric-tonnes of air. The headlights have been thrown out and day time running lights (DRL) and turn lamps invade the original headlamp slot. Where are the headlamps? Well, they get placed below the thin DRL’s.
The DC designed EcoSport gets a lavish interior finished in beige leather upholstery, and invites no more than four passengers. Two large LCD’s at the rear and a new entertainment system that replaces Ford’s SYNC central screen. The co-driver’s seat can be reclined flat and the passenger can extent his feet all over the seats. It also gets ambient lighting.
The rear end pictures were unavailable for us to comment, we would say it looks a bit overdone on the outside, although we would love to see how it looks from behind as well. This design pack is expected to be available across all engine options. However, for this one car (number 1) we expect that DC has used the EcoBoost engined version to stick on to the aggressive theme. The pricing is not yet out, and we are waiting for DC to name it, which usually is very unconventional, all in all an exercise in excess.
