We spotted the test mules of the DC Avanti being tested on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway quite recently. Now the latest on the details of the car comes from the brochures that have been leaked.
The Avanti will be offered in 10 different colours and features bi-xenon head lights and LED tail lamps. The company has retained most of the features that were seen at the concept displayed at the uto Expo. The length of the Avanti is 4,550 mm, while the width and height is 1,965mm and 1,200 mm respectively. The car gets a long wheelbase that measures 2,700 mm and has a ground clearance of 170 mm.
A space frame chassis with a roll cage is enclosed by the car's body that is made of a carbon composite. The company has managed to keep the overall weight of the car down to 1,580kg. The car stands on 20-inch alloy wheels with 255/35 sized tyres at the front and 295/30 sized tyres at the back.
Coming to the features in the cabin, the pictures do not show any fancy equipment and the layout gets minimal features. However, the interior is colour coordinated with the exterior paint scheme. The AC vents are round shaped while the engine start is with the normal key unlike the push-button-start in most modern cars. We hope the manufacturer provides the two-seater car with airbags and ABS as a standard option and all disc brakes shown in the brochure.
The sportscar is a mid-engined vehicle that comes powered by the critically acclaimed Ford EcoBoost 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. This mill churns out 250bhp of power and 360Nm of torque and comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. DC Design house has equipped the car with a double wishbone setup both, at the front and at the rear as well.
The DC Avanti is expected to be launched early next year and deliveries might begin in January itself. While the initial lot that already has been booked was priced at around Rs 25-30 lakh, the new lot is expected to be costlier and might come up to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
