The DC Avanti has been spied again, this time in Pune. Our reader Asim Khan spotted the car on the Katraj bypass road.
The Avanti is an entirely new car made by the famous automotive design house- DC. It’s unlike other modified cars that use a body kit with some car forming the base. As we can see from the pictures, the test mule is completely camouflaged to hide the minor changes the company might have made. The vehicle might be undergoing some final tests while receiving some minor tweaks before the car is launched.
Powering the DC Avanti is an EcoBoost four-cylinder 2.0-litre DOHC engine sourced from Ford. This mill churns out 245bhp of power and 366Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and the motor features direct injection. The current mill is Euro 5 compliant which can be upgraded to the upcoming Euro 6 norms enabling the company to sell the car overseas as well.
The car has been designed and developed by DC Design and has been spotted testing earlier twice, once on the outskirts of Pune and again on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. DC unveiled the Avanti at the Auto Expo in February this year and it will be the first made-in-India supercar when the manufacturer launches it in our country. It will create a category in itself as it will be the first supercar produced in our country by an Indian manufacturer. It might be priced at around Rs 25-30 lakh when it goes on sale.
