DC Design has launched the Avanti in Maharashtra. The home-grown sports car was launched in the state’s only dealership located in Pune. Priced at Rs 35.93 lakh (ex-showroom Pune), the striking looking model has created quite a stir in the market thanks to its unusual design.
In true sports car form, the Avanti features a mid-engine layout that houses a Renault-derived 2-litre, four cylinder turbocharged engine with 248bhp of power and 340Nm of torque. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
According to DC Design, the Avanti can hit 100kmph from standstill in 6 seconds and go on to an electronically limited top speed of 200kmph.
The Avanti is currently being manufactured in Talegaon, near Pune. Billed as India’s first true sports car, the Avanti promises a lot when it comes to grabbing eyeballs and offering sports car thrills for a whole lot less compared to typical European coupes.
