Nissan is developing products with a safer body shell, says a report on ET. The company will make use of stronger steel and reinforcements for better rigidity and the upcoming RediGo compact crossover will be a part of this plan.
Taking things ahead from the recent debacle of Datsun GO's safety ratings, the company is looking at the fiasco as a serious concern and developing products to make them safer. Apart from this, the manufacturer is also considering sending the new batch of cars to Global NCAP to review its strength shortly.
Datsun's RediGo concept is a compact crossover that will be based on the same platform as the GO hatchback and the Go Plus MPV. It will be engineered keeping in mind India's safety benchmark. Let us hope the upcoming car with a rugged SUV stance will be a good and safer offering in the potential small crossover for the Indian market. It might be priced in the range of Rs 3.5 lakh to Rs 5.5 lakh and go up against vehicles in the B-segment in the Indian market.
