Datsun has announced that their global sales have crossed the 90,000 units sold milestone. Out of these, 60,000 units were accounted for by the GO hatchback and GO Plus MPV.
Nissan's budget brand sells its vehicles only in a few countries out of which the largest market for them is Indonesia, followed by India and then Russia. Apart from the GO hatchback and Go Plus MPV, the Datsun brand also sells the on-DO and me-Do vehicles, but only in Russia. These cars sold 30,000 units in that country.
The Datsun brand has a long legacy to it and was revived in March 2014 in India, Indonesia and Russia. It was re-launched in South Africa last year, following closely with its introduction in Nepal. At present, the Datsun cars are manufactured in India, Indonesia and Russia and the carmaker has hinted that they might also start production in South Africa sometime in future.
We hope the manufacturer manages to price the upcoming Redi-Go to make it the most affordable product from their line-up, yet the most promising one in terms of looks and features. The production version of the car is expected to be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo in India followed by a launch.
