The Datsun Redigo will be launched for the Indian market on June 7. This will then be the third car from the brand after the Go and Go Plus that are currently on sale in India.
The Redigo rides on the same CMF-A platform as the Renault Kwid. The new hatchback is 3,430mm long, it is slightly shorter than the Renault Kwid’s 3,679mm length. However, its upselling factor is the best-in-class ground clearance of 185mm and different looks. It also gets LED daytime running lights, a first in the entry-level segment.
The top-of-the-line Redigo comes equipped with power steering, front power windows and an infotainment system compatible with CD, USB and AUX. On the safety front, the car gets an optional driver airbag, but ABS is not offered. The cabin comes finished in beige with fabric upholstery for the seats.
The Datsun Redigo is powered by a three-cylinder engine pumping out around 54bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. This mill comes mated to a five-speed manual, sending power to the front wheels.
Datsun had unveiled the Redigo first as a concept car at the 2014 Auto Expo. It stole all the attention of onlookers and analysts at the event. Now, it will be finally launched pan-India next week, when the variant-wise prices will be announced.
