Datsun has announced an extension of the production run of their limited edition Redigo Sport in the wake of its successful run in the market. The production has been increased to 1800 units from the 1000 units announced earlier.
A thick black stripe runs through the length of the car starting from the centre of the hood and gets a pinstripe on each side. The stripe continues to the tail with the bumper having its lower half dipped in black to complete the two-tone look. The chrome grille bezel is also dipped in black with honeycomb mesh grille getting a sporty contrast highlight. The air-dam lip also gets the black treatment and looks mean with the LED daytime running lamps. The B-pillar as well as the window garnishes are in black along with the wing mirrors. The profile looks premium with the blacked out wheel caps with a contrast highlight.
Being a top-spec car, it gets manual air-conditioning with heater, electric power steering, power windows and a driver side airbag. It also gets engine immobiliser and central locking with remote. The audio system gets Bluetooth while the car is offered with rear parking sensors for the first time. Under the hood, it is the same 799cc three cylinder petrol engine from the Redigo that develops 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox that powers the front wheels.
The Redigo Sport is offered in red, white and grey hues with the black highlights. The interior is all-black with red highlights on the steering wheel, the dashboard and also on the upholstery.
