Datsun will launch the Redigo, their new entry-level hatchback, on June 7 in India. We have got our hands on the brochure that reveals all the features and variants of the hatchback.
The car will be offered in five colours - lime, ruby, white, grey and silver. It measures 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width, 1,541mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,348mm. The car rides on 155/80 13-inch tyres and has a ground clearance of 185mm. A buyer can also personalise his Redigo through the five different kits that Datsun has to offer.
The Datsun Redigo will be available in four variants - D, A, T, T(O) and S. D is the base trim that misses out on rear folding seats, power steering, air-conditioner, digital tachometer, infotainment system and airbags. The S version, on the other hand, gets all the features in addition to a driver-side airbag. The cabin gets fabric seats and has a boot space of 222 litres.
The Redigo is powered by a 799cc petrol mill that churns out 54bhp of power at 5,678rpm and a torque of 72Nm at 4,386mm. This mill comes mated to a five-speed gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. Fuel economy is rated at 25.17kmpl.
Datsun is expected to price the base variant at Rs 2.59 lakh. This starting price will definitely be affordable one for a hatchback that has the looks of a crossover. Variant-wise pricing will be announced on June 7.
