Datsun has launched the RediGo Sport, a limited edition car, with an eye on the festive season for a price of Rs 3.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The RediGo sport is based on the top spec variant of the RediGo and gets a two-tone paint job along with new interiors and added features. Datsun India also introduced their new brand ambassador and first customer of the RediGo Sport – Indian Olympic medal winning wrestler, Sakshi Malik.
The RediGo Sport comes in red, white and grey colour options with the black highlights. A thick black stripe runs through the length of the car starting from the centre of the hood and gets a pin-stripe on each side. The chrome grille bezel is also dipped in black with honeycomb mesh grille getting a sporty contrast highlight. The air-dam lip also gets the black treatment and looks mean with the LED daytime running lamps. The stripe continues to the tail with the bumper having its lower half dipped in black to complete the two-tone look. The profile looks premium with the blacked out wheel caps with a contrast highlight. The B-pillar as well as the window garnishes are done in black along with the wing mirrors.
The RediGo Sport comes with all-black interiors with red highlights on the steering wheel, the dashboard and also on the upholstery. Being a top-spec car, gets manual air-conditioning with heater, electric power steering, power windows and a driver side airbag. It gets engine immobiliser and central locking with remote. The audio system gets Bluetooth while the car is offered with rear parking sensors for the first time.
Under the hood, it is the same 799cc three cylinder petrol engine from the RediGo that develops 53bhp of power and 72Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox that powers the front wheels. To be offered for a limited time for the festive season ahead, the RediGo sport will compete against the Renault Kwid, the Maruti Alto K10, the Hyundai Eon and its sibling the Datsun Go.
