Datsun has launched the driver-side airbag variant for the Go and Go+ for the Indian market. This comes after months of turbulence the company went through when it was asked to withdraw the Go from the Indian roads due to its lack of safety features.
The company has added the driver-side airbag on the top-end variant T and this new variant is called T (O). The Datsun Go T(O) has been priced at Rs 4.19 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), whereas the Go+ T(O) retails at Rs 4.81 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). These new variants see a price increase of Rs 15,000 due to the addition of the driver-side airbag.
The company attracted negative publicity when the global automobile safety body, New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) had asked the company to withdraw the car from the Indian market after the Go failed the crash test and managed to get zero safety rating. We appreciate Datsun’s effort by introducing these variants.
