Datsun India will launch its new GO+ MPV in India tomorrow. This seven-seater MPV is expected to be launched in the Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh price bracket giving a tough fight to the Honda Mobilio and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
The GO+ is basically a stretched out version of the hatchback, but Datsun has still managed to keep the length of the car under four metres. It measures 3,995mm in length, 1,635mm in width, and 1,490mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. The car has a boot space of 48 litres which increases to 347 litres with the third row folded down.
The Datsun GO+ MPV is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 67bhp of power and 104Nm of torque. This mill comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The MPV will be offered in four different trims D, D1, A, T. While power steering and all power windows are offered in the top-end variant only, air-conditioning will be available in A and T variants. All the trims come equipped with features like mobile docking system, front power windows, etc.
The GO+ is currently being produced at the Renault-Nissan’s Oragadam facility in Chennai. Being a sub-four-metre vehicle, the car gets the government tax benefits, which means we can expect the manufacturer to launch the car at a very competitive price. It will then bring in another option for Indian consumers in the sub-compact MPV segment of cars in our country that at present includes the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio, Nissan Evalia and the Chevrolet Enjoy.
