The Datsun GO, one of the most awaited cars for the Indian car market in 2014, will be launched tomorrow, in New Delhi. With the launch of the hatchback in India, Datsun will mark its return to the car market after many decades.
The GO is a new vehicle that will appeal to the small car buyers in our country. It is one of the 10 products that Datsun plans to launch by 2016. The car has been designed to boast of a spacious cabin while making it available with most of the necessary features, a mobile docking station being the highlight. With the help of this unit consumers can connect their smartphones to the system in the car.Despite being a small car, the vehicle has a powerful yet efficient engine under the hood.
The Datsun GO is powered by a four-cylinder 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 76bhp of power and 104Nm of torque. This mill is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. Though this engine is the same one powering the Nissan Micra, Datsun claims that they have worked on it for better low-end response and drivability.
The company has already started producing the Datsun GO at the Renault-Nissan manufacturing facility located in Chennai. The car will soon reach the dealerships with its launch tomorrow. Put forth as an affordable entry-level car, the company had announced that they will price the top-end of the GO below four lakh. The car is expected to be priced starting from Rs 3.1 lakh, with the top-spec going up to Rs 3.8 lakh. The Datsun GO will go up against the Hyundai Eon and the Chevrolet Spark in the Indian car market.
