Details of the India-bound Datsun GO+ MPV have surfaced on an Indonesian website. According to the source, the Datsun GO+ will be available in five variants, with a single engine option.
The GO+ will be available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 68bhp and a five-speed transmission. The variants on offer will be GO+ D, A, Option A, T and Option T. An additional variant with an automatic gearbox is in the works to make use of the Low Cost Green Car segment in Indonesia.
The barebones base variant Go+ D comes with no creature comforts, in the omission list is the AC, audio and paint on the bumpers. This variant might be priced at Rp 85 million (Rs 4.42 lakh). Step further and the A variant gets aircon, body-coloured bumpers, mobile dock, audio system, bottle holders and storage pockets. This variant might be priced at Rp 92.4 million (Rs 4.81 lakh). The third variant, the Option A, gets the audio dock replaced with a 1 DIN audio system and is priced at Rp 92.9 million (Rs 4.84 lakh).
The fourth variant T gets all of the above including power steering, power windows, body-coloured door handles and an engine immobilizer. It is priced at Rp 99.9 million (Rs 5.20 lakh). The top-of-the line T Option gets a roof-mounted spoiler and parking sensors and is priced at Rp 102.9 million (Rs 5.36 lakh).
Datsun may not offer the base variant with no AC in India, as in our weather conditions it is a must. However, they might offer it with no power steering, and even no audio maybe. Nissan might also use the reliable 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine for India. The Datsun GO+ will compete with Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and the upcoming Honda Mobilio.
