Facelifted versions of the Datsun GO and Go Plus have been launched in the Indonesian market. These are mid-life updates for the original two Datsun models when the brand was re-launched in 2013. The exterior now includes a new front bumper and LED DRL inserts (optional throughout the range) and on the inside, the dashboard has been updated and now the T and T Active variants get a 6.75-inch touchscreen system. It also comes with optional 14-inch alloy wheels but we believe that this will be fitted by the dealer.
It’s still has the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol motor on offer. With the five-speed manual, it produces 68bhp/104Nm, but with the CVT the horse power has been bumped up to 78bhp although the torque remains unchanged.
The Indonesian market gets the driver airbag as standard across the range.
Both cars will come to India and given that they are produced here for a large number of markets, this shouldn’t be too far away. This facelifted GO will take on the likes of the Maruti Celerio, Wagon R and Tata Tiago while the Go+ is a rival for the B+-segment cars like Maruti Swift, Hyundai Grand i10, Mahindra KUV100, Tata Tigor and Ford Freestyle.
