Cyrus Mistry will become the chairman of Tata Motors on December 28. He will take over from Ratan Tata who led the company in the post for over two decades. Cyrus had been appointed as deputy chairman and chairman designate of the Tata Sons (parent company of Tata Motors) and was chosen to succeed the industry heavy weight when he retired.
In honour of his achievements and contributions, the board of Tata sons has conferred the title of chairman emeritus on Ratan Tata. He had been the driving force behind venture like the Tata Nano, Indica and the acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover.
