The Tata Bolt was spotted testing again and this time we have even more clear pictures, courtesy, PowerDrift. Tata Bolt is the new hatchback for the Indian market and is expected to create a great excitement when launched. The company has been continuously testing the vehicle and this time around, the manufacturer might be completing some final tests before they launch the car in a couple of months.
The Tata Bolt is based on the company’s X1 platform which underpins the Indica Vista hatchback. The design philosophy and features are completely new giving the car a completely fresh look. The fascia sports a new grille, revised headlamps with projectors, fog lamps and a revamped bumper. At the back of the car, new tail lights, high and low mount stop lamps and a chrome grille is seen.
The Tata Bolt will be available in both- petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol trim will be powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron turbocharged unit that churns out 84bhp of power and 140Nm of torque. The oil-burner will be powered by the 1.3-litre Multijet engine sourced from Fiat, which might be further tuned by Tata. Apart from the manual transmission, which is expected to be seen in all the versions, Tata might equip one of the top-end petrol versions with the AMT (automated manual transmission).
Tata is making sure they leave no stone unturned in terms of marketing the car. The Pune-based automaker has started promoting the vehicle with the advertisements of the car already airing on television. Tata might launch the Bolt along with the Zest compact sedan. The Bolt hatchback will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10.
