In line with signing MS Dhoni as their brand ambassador, Citroen will this month launch special editions of the C3 and C3 Aircross inspired by the cricketing legend. These vehicles will feature exclusive decals and accessories as a part of the deal.
As is the case with any special edition, the changes will be all cosmetic with no mechanical updates which in the case of the C3 and C3 Aircross will be a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine producing 109bhp/190Nm in MT guise and 109bhp/205Nm in the six-speed AT guise. The former is also expected to get the option of its NA turbo petrol in the lower spec versions.
Cricket players and vehicles have had a long-standing relationship with the Indian players endorsing not just budget brands but also expensive ones like Audi and BMW. In his nearly 21 years of playing cricket at various levels for India, this is MS Dhoni’s first-ever collaboration with a car maker. Given his wide appeal we also expect a Basalt version once the car is launched in H2 of this calendar year.
