Citroen Basalt, India’s first mass-market coupe SUV has been on sale since August, 2024. The SUV is available at a starting ex-showroom cost of Rs. 7.99 lakh across three variants, namely, You, Plus, and Max along with two engine and gearbox options. In this article, we reveal the real-world fuel efficiency of the turbo AT version of the SUV.
The Citroen Basalt is available with two engines—a 1.2-litre NA petrol and a 1.2-litre turbo petrol motor. While the former is paired only with a five-speed manual gearbox, the latter is tuned with a six-speed manual and an automatic torque converter unit. As for mileage, the automaker claims an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.9kmpl and 18.7kmpl for the NA petrol and turbo petrol versions, respectively.
In the city, the Basalt turbo AT version returned a fuel efficiency of 11.29kmpl. Meanwhile, the highway figure stood at 17.17kmpl. These figures were obtained, in our tests, in which we follow a standard practice across all the models that we evaluate. Here, the AC temperature is set to 23 degrees with a fan speed of one or two.
