Citroen will unveil the Basalt on 2 August and with it will arrive some major updates for its budget range that will feature as standard equipment on Basalt. The outside sees the car get LED DRLs and projector headlamps while the biggest addition inside will be a climate control system. The latest teaser reveals it will be a single-zone unit with toggle switches for all the functions. This design is expected to make its way to the C3/eC3 and of course the C3 Aircross over the course of the year.
The teaser also reveals that it will get the same 10-25-inch touchscreen and digital instrument cluster from the C3 Aircross. We already know that the car will get headrests with side support, front and rear armrests with the back getting dual cup holders. Finally, by the end of the year, all Citroen cars will get six airbags as standard across the range.
The Basalt is Citroen’s fourth car under its C-Cube program for the Indian market. It will be offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol producing 109bhp/215Nm and mated to either a six-speed MT or a six-speed AT.
