- First Citroen car to be tested under BNCAP
The newly launched Citroen Basalt was put under the BNCAP crash tests, and the model has managed to score four-star safety ratings. With this, the Basalt coupe SUV has become the first Citroen car to be evaluated for crash test safety ratings by BNCAP in India.
The test reports have revealed that the Basalt SUV has secured four stars for both, adult and child occupant protection. Notably, the Adult protection score stood at 26.19 out of 32. Meanwhile, the child occupant protection was rated at 35.90 out of 49.
The tests were conducted in August. The tested variants include the You and the Plus for the NA petrol versions, and the Plus and Max guise for the turbo petrol versions, with manual and automatic gearbox options.
As for the results, the side movable impact and pole impact tests for adult occupants were rated as ‘Good’, while the front collision rating ranged from ‘Marginal’ to ‘Adequate’.
