Giorgetto Giugiaro, one of the finest car designers, is currently working with a Chinese car company called Techrules to build a supercar with eye-catching specifications.
This supercar will use the acclaimed Turbine Recharging Electric Vehicle (TREV) technology which allows a micro turbine to run on a series of fuels like natural gas, biogas, petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. This micro turbine will generate electricity that recharges the car’s battery, and power the six electric motors that spin the wheels. Sources claim that the turbine generator can fully charge the battery pack in just over 40 minutes.
Let’s get to the numbers now. Techrules added that the maximum output is in the range of 1,030bhp and can do 2,000km on a single tank of aviation fuel! With a dry weight of just 1,380kg, the GT96 prototype was able to shatter the 0-100kmph run in 2.5sec, and go on to hit a top speed of 350kmph (electronically limited).
Techrules unveiled the AT96 and GT96 concepts earlier at the Geneva Motor Show where they added that production would begin in the next few years. In a bid to quicken the process, Giorgetto and his son has reportedly been inducted into the company to get the show rolling as soon as possible. Even though the production ready GT96 will be displayed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, it will make it to showrooms only in 2018 or 2019.
Techrules is expected to begin production by making 25 units of this high performance vehicle each year.
