The rivalry between General Motors and Ford will go down in history as one of the fiercest battles in the automotive industry. While matching their vehicles spec to spec and feature to feature is mandatory, but appreciating the competition’s offering is not heard of very often. Chevy begs to differ and pays tribute to the Mustang’s 50th anniversary.
Chevy says the "healthy competition" between the Camaro and Mustang has been a "driving force for constant improvement.”
In a statement, GM's Executive Vice President of Global Product Development, Mark Reuss, said, “For five decades, the Camaro and the Mustang have been battling it out in every possible setting.” Reuss went on to say, “These two cars have been striving to beat each other on the track, on the drag strip and on the streets. That competition is a big part of why both cars are so amazing, and so popular, today.”
It is a great gesture by GM and it would be interesting to see how Ford responds to this compliment.
