While we have been talking about Chevy’s sub-four metre crossover for a while, a report suggests that the new model will be named Adra. The concept is based on the Gamma 2 platform, which also forms base for the company’s hatchback, the Beat.
The production version of the Chevrolet Adra will be sold in many developing countries, while Brazil and India will be the main markets for the crossover. It will be pitted against the Ford EcoSport, Nissan Terrano, Renault Duster and Mahindra and Hyundai’s upcoming crossovers.
The Adra might use the same 1.3-litre Multijet engine found in Sail and Enjoy. The Adra’s petrol-powered mill could be the 1.2-litre engine from the Beat with a different tune or an all-new small capacity turbo engine.
The Adra will be displayed among other products from the GM stable such as the facelifted Beat, a special edition of the hatchback in Manchester United colours, the Chevrolet Trailblazer, the all-new Corvette C7 Stingray and the Chevrolet Camaro.
