Have you dreamt of assembling a supercar in a workshop, do you have a grease monkey lurking behind that business suit? If the answer is yes, then Chevrolet is offering a unique program for customers who opt for the Corvette Z06 to build the engine of their car.
Customers will be given a chance to spend an entire day working at the Performance Build Centre in putting together the supercharged 6.2-litre V8 motor with an assembly technician. The one of a kind program will cost 5,000 USD (Rs 3.16 lakh), owners opting for it will also get a special engine plaque identifying the owner/technician and the date of the build. The entire event will be documented by a professional photographer.
According to Corvette product manager Harlan Charles, “Chevrolet recognises the passion customers have for Corvette and the Engine Build Experience offers them a truly unique opportunity for hands-on involvement in the creation of the heart of their new car." He added, “It’s a chance to bond with their new car.”
Chevy’s marketing team needs to pat the man responsible for this idea. While supercar owners world over would boast about the engine size and power output their machines have on tap, ones who own Corvette Z06 get bragging rights of putting together their engines.
