Chevrolet in Brazil has imparted minor updates to the 2016 Captiva and the new car is priced at Real 115,390 (Rs 19.95 lakh), up from the outgoing model that costed Real 103,990 (Rs 17.98 lakh).
While no mechanical changes have been made to the new Captiva, the car gets away with upgrades in the external styling and changes to the interiors. Muscle power is still furnished by the Ecotec 2.4-litre direct injection gasoline engine which makes 184bhp and 233Nm of torque at 4900rpm. Power is transferred to the wheels by the same six-speed automatic transmission that integrates an ‘Eco Mode’ function to improve fuel efficiency.
The exteriors get a boost in looks through the wheels, wing mirrors and roof rack that are now draped in a shade of sporty graphite. This shade is also extended to sections of both bumpers and the fenders. On the inside, customers can now enjoy the new dual tone seat covers (black and brown), a redesigned centre console that houses the MyLink multimedia system with a seven inch touch screen, a fresh steering wheel with premium finish and audio controls, heated front seats and an auto air-conditioner. Chevrolet Brazil is also offering two new shades on the 2016 Captiva called grey ashen and switchblade silver.
