Chevrolet has showcased the new Beat Activ compact crossover concept at the 2016 Auto Expo. It was unveiled alongside the Essentia compact sedan which is also based on the Beat compact hatchback.
The Activ has been termed a soft roader by the automaker and has all the standard formula used to make a hatchback based crossover. This includes larger wheels, aggressive body kit, LED lights and funky graphics throughout.
The cabin has been made to match the external shade of the car which in this case is green. Like its compact sedan sibling, the Activ too has the standard interiors from the Beat hatchback but has now been trimmed out with green accents to give the cabin a funky look. Like the Essentia, this too gets a touchscreen infotainment system but we believe that this will only be offered with the top-spec variants. GM has not announced any launch date or specifications for the Activ. When launched, it will compete with the Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and the Fiat Avventura.
