The Chevrolet Trailblazer has once again been spied in India. Our reader Binu Pavi spotted two heavily camouflaged test mules of the SUV undergoing trials in Trivandrum.
Based on the Chevrolet Colorado truck’s platform, the Trailblazer is a full-sized seven-seater SUV which will rival the other SUVs like the Ford Endeavour, Hyundai Santa Fe, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Toyota Fortuner. The Trailblazer will be offered with a 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine with a direct injection system and a variable geometry turbocharger. This engine delivers 193bhp and 500Nm of torque through a six-speed automatic transmission, though Chevrolet might also offer a base variant of the SUV, equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox.
Though the Chevrolet Trailblazer made its Indian debut over a year ago at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo, it was only recently that GM confirmed the car’s launch in India. Since then, the car has been spotted testing in Mumbai and other cities quite a few times, indicating that the launch is not far away. We expect it to be priced around the Rs 30 lakh mark.
