To be launched in India this year, the Chevrolet Trailblazer was recently imported to our country for tests. Here are more spyshots of the vehicle, which now not only show the exterior but also the interior of the camouflaged test mule.
The Trailblazer's interior comes equipped with premium upholstery and it gets several new features that up the luxury quotient. The cabin sports a dual colour scheme in black and beige and piano-black finish for the centre console. The car is equipped with Chevrolet's latest-generation MyLink infotainment system that provides smartphone connectivity, streams audio, video, make hands-free calls, while users can also access personal playlists. The company engineers have worked on improving the NVH levels of the SUV and added safety features like driver and co-passenger airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill descent control and engine drag control.
The Trailblazer is a mid-size sport utility vehicle that measures 4,878mm long, 1,902mm wide and 1,834mm tall and has a large wheelbase measuring 2,870mm. Based on the Colorado pick-up truck, the full-fledged SUV was recently updated with new front and rear bumpers, LED projector headlamps, integrated LED DRLs and new fog lamps.
It is powered by a 2.8-litre diesel mill that churns out 200bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. This mill comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. This one might be brought to the Indian market with the availability of another variant equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox.
The SUV is produced by the Chevrolet division of American automaker General Motors which also operates in India. The company began the tests of the vehicle in our country a few days after they disclosed that they will launch the car here. They have still not confirmed if the SUV will go on sale as a CKD or CBU unit, but it will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Pajero and the upcoming new-gen Ford Endeavour.
