The Chevrolet Trailblazer has been officially unveiled for the Indian market. It is expected to be launched later this year and will be offered only with the option of a diesel engine. It was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo along with the Spin MPV.
In essence the SUV version of the Colorado pickup truck, the Trailblazer. It will be offered with a 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 193bhp and 500Nm of torque. The engine has been mated to a six-speed AT. The interior of the Thai-spec car has been trimmed out in brown and black while the India-spec model has been trimmed out in beige and black keeping in mind the preferences of the Indian buyers.
Standard features include the MyLink infotainment system, climate control for first and second rows, steering mounted audio controls, hill start and descent control, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, reversing camera and automatic door locks.
It will rival vehicles like the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Hyundai Santa Fe and is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 25 lakh to Rs 31 lakh.
